Our Commitment to Sustainable Palm Oil
At Tree Soap Co., we don’t just make soap—we make a statement. We recognize the serious concerns surrounding palm oil production: its impact on the environment, biodiversity, and local communities. While palm oil is an irreplaceable ingredient in soap-making, irresponsible sourcing has been tied to deforestation, habitat destruction, and social injustices.
From day one, our founder and CEO, Jackie DeAssis, made an unwavering commitment: to prioritize ethical and sustainable choices—even if it meant delaying production. Before launching Tree Soap Co. in 2020, she dedicated over six months to intensive research, scrutinizing the palm oil industry, certification standards, and global transparency initiatives. She knew palm oil’s unmatched benefits—its ability to create a firm, long-lasting bar, its deeply moisturizing properties, and its resistance to oxidation, which ensures a longer shelf life. These qualities are why palm oil is essential, and why replacing it without compromising quality is nearly impossible.
Her commitment led her to an industry-leading ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) transparency initiative that evaluates 100 palm oil producers, processors, and traders on sustainability performance. Through this rigorous process, she identified a supplier that not only meets her high ethical standards but leads the global sustainability rankings—a family-owned company with a 97.4% (2024) sustainability rating, and the first Certified Organic producer to achieve Rainforest Alliance certification.
This supplier ensures 100% traceable, organic, and sustainably sourced palm oil, adhering to the Identity Preserved (IP) standard, guaranteeing that every ingredient we use is responsibly sourced from start to finish.
Despite the challenges, we deliver luxurious, long-lasting soaps with captivating scents, carefully crafted using a blend of premium essential oils. Every bar is designed with the olfactory pyramid in mind, ensuring a fragrance that lingers and an experience you can truly trust.
At Tree Soap Co., sustainability isn’t just a promise—it’s the foundation of everything we do.
A Message from Our CEO
"Sustainability isn’t just a trendy term—it’s a commitment to constant improvement. It’s not about perfection, but about making better choices today to protect the future for generations to come.” - Jackie DeAssis.

Why We Believe Palm Oil is Possible?
Palm oil is the most efficient and high-yield vegetable oil available, making it a valuable natural resource. Compared to other oils like soybean or rapeseed, it requires less land to produce the same amount of oil. However, its benefits can only be fully realized when it’s produced ethically.
How We’re Making a Difference
- Sustainable Sourcing: We are committed to responsible ingredient selection, using palm oil sourced with strict sustainability standards to protect natural ecosystems and promote ethical farming practices.
- Habitat Protection: Our palm oil supplier prioritizes conservation, safeguarding natural habitats to protect wildlife and biodiversity.
- Fair Labor Practices: Our supplier invests in community development, pays fair wages, and supports small farmers, empowering them with resources for long-term success.
- Carbon Neutrality: Our supplier maintains a zero-carbon footprint, helping to combat climate change while producing this essential ingredient

What You Can Do?
As a consumer, you play a vital role in supporting sustainable practices. Seeking out certified sustainable palm oil (CSPO) is a step in the right direction, but it alone does not fully guarantee that a company is not contributing to deforestation. It's important to understand that some certification schemes, including RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), allow mixed sourcing, meaning sustainable and non-sustainable palm oil can be blended within the supply chain. This is called mass-balanced or book-an-claim models where certified and non-certified oils are mixed. Only Identity Preserved (IP) or Segregated (SG) supply chains ensure palm oil comes from truly sustainable and deforestation-free sources. As a customer, your role is crucial. You have the right to ask more information about the ingredients used in your soap. Ask companies if they use palm oil from suppliers with full supply chain traceability (Identity Preserved Palm Oil is the gold standard), such as our supplier. Although this is very uncommon to find and this is the main reason RSPO has been criticized for inconsistent enforcement and loopholes that allow companies to clear forests while still maintaining certification.
By choosing Tree Soap Co., you’re not only indulging in high-quality, natural products but also contributing to a better future for the planet and its people. Your informed choice supports ethical practices and environmental stewardship, and it's a powerful way to influence the industry towards more sustainable practices. Thank you for making a difference with your purchasing decisions.
